On November 26, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued CSMS #14-000613 advising that the International Trade Data System (ITDS) Committee of the Trade Support Network (TSN) is requesting participants in their newly launched U.S. Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Marketing Service (USDA-AMS) Import Working Group.
According to the CSMS, “The ACE system will replace the ACS system, and it will require that the trade be capable of electronically submitting specific data to USDA-AMS for certain import scenarios using the Partner Government Agency (PGA) Message Set. The purpose of the USDA-AMS Import Working Group will be to provide all stakeholder groups with an opportunity to discuss the technical requirements related to the participation of USDA-AMS in the ITDS/ACE system.”
Members of the group will consist of:
- Businesses impacted by AMS programs for imported fruit and vegetable products
- Trade software developers
- Representatives from USDA-AMS and the CBP team that are developing the ITDS software system
The working group will hold weekly conference calls over an eight-week time period.
