CBP Releases New ACE Capabilities

On April 17, 2015, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #15-000224 detailing the new capabilities in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) that became effective on April 18, 2015.

The new features include the following:

  • Entries with Non-Automated Manifest System (AMS) Bills can be filed in ACE
    • Filers can submit ACE entries without an associated carrier transmitted BOL (AMS). 
    • Includes shipments for individuals arriving by airplane, etc. that require a formal or informal entry. 
  • CBP has the ability to Edit ACE Entries
    • Allows CBP to edit entries previously submitted to ACE by the trade community

The enhancements are the first updates under ACE Deployment E.
