In a Federal Register notice to be published on August 7, 2015, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is issuing a final rule removing certain documentation requirements for drawback claims, effective August 7, 2015.

According to the notice, “CBP is amending its regulations by removing the requirement that the documentary evidence that establishes the date and fact of exportation for drawback eligibility be originally signed or that any copy of such documentary evidence must be certified.”

Since CBP will now accept unsigned documentary proof of export, copies of original forms will no longer require certification.
