CBP Issues Changes to 2014 Harmonized Tariff Schedule

On July 1, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) # 14-000386 announcing the availability of an updated 2014 Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S. (HTSUS), containing 361 ABI records and 93 harmonized tariff records.
 
The amended version has been posted by the International Trade Commission (ITC) and, among other amendments, contains the following changes:

  • New Statistical Suffixes
  • Madagascar Reinstated under AGOA, Swaziland Removed
  • Revision of General Statistical Note 3 (c) clarifying MPF Exemptions under GSP, CBERA, Insular Possessions
  • Addition of Japanese Agricultural Standard to Chapters 4,7,8,9,10,12,15, and 22
