CBP Announces One-Day Grace Period for Protests

On August 8, 2016 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released an update to their Protest in ACE Page announcing that CBP will allow for a one-day grace period and will accept protests filed in the ACE Portal past the required due date.

Published in a Federal Register Notice (FRN) on July 28, 2016 CBP announced that beginning August 27, 2016 all Protests will be required to be filed in the ACE Portal. The transition from ACS to ACE will be completed on August 29, 2016, with ACS being down on August 28, 2016. Since this cutoff will be occurring on a Sunday, CBP will allow any protest that is due on August 28, 2016 to be filed in the ACE Portal on August 29, 2016.
