On November 6, 2013, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the revised date of the East Coast Trade Symposium to be March 6-7, 2014. The symposium, which will be held in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, was originally scheduled for October 24-25, 2013, but cancelled due to the government shutdown.

- Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) single window and full deployment
- Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS)
- Centers of Excellence and Expertise (CEEs)
- Trusted Trader Programs and partnership in trade enforcement
- The president’s National Export Initiative
