In a Federal Register notice to be published on March 31, 2016 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will announce the conclusion of the FDA Partner Government Agency (PGA) message set test through the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).

On August 27, 2015 CBP and FDA began testing the PGA message sets to verify they could fulfil the FDA data requirements for ACE. According to the notice, “CBP and FDA have determined that ACE is capable of accepting FDA regulated electronic entries in ACE via the FDA PGA Message Set and, having found the test to be successful, are concluding the test.”

CBP would like to clarify that while the test will be concluded, the legacy ACS system will not be decommissioned at this time for transmitting FDA data. CBP urges all filers to use ACE for their filings in preparation for when it becomes the sole-authorized EDI system.

The FDA test will be completed on May 2, 2016. The full Federal Register notice can be viewed here
