CBP Announces Additional Record Requirements for Seven PGAs for Export Filing

On June 27, 2016 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #16-000537 announcing that for PGA data elements, Appendix X (Schedule B Codes for PGAs) has been posted and joins Appendix Q (PGA Record Formats) and Appendix A (Commodity Filing Response Messages) as well as the AESTIR and 601 updates.

The seven additional Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) that are listed in Appendix X are as follows:

  • Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)
  • Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS)
  • U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)
  • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS)
  • Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB)
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)  

The EPA currently has an ongoing pilot for the Export PGA, while the other six do not currently have a timeline in place for pilots.
