Argentina Replaces Low-Tension Regulation

On July 5, 2016 the Argentinian Ministry of Production issued regulation 171/16, which replaces 508/15 for Electrical Safety- Low Voltage Equipment. After evaluating regulation 508/15 certain areas were highlighted that required additional clarification and other errors amended.

Regulation 171/16 seeks to certify to meet safety standards and provide information from goods that are in compliance with the applicable regulation, sold in Argentina and allow free circulation for trade purposes. Reg. 171/16 will cover additional products with the standards developed by the Argentine Institute of Standardization and Certification (IRAM).
