Argentina Announces Modifications to Automatic &/or Non-Automatic Licenses

On October 21, 2016 the Argentinian Ministry of Economy (Secretaria de Economia) published Resolution No 301-2016 which modifies the previous publication, “Resolution No 5/15” from the Ministry of Production (Secretaria de Producción).

Regulation No. 301-2016 made changes to the list of items that are subject to Automatic and Non-Automatic Licenses. Among the changes 16 MERCOUSR Common Nomenclature (NCM) were removed and 96 NCM were added ranging from chapters 29 to 96 in the Harmonized System.

The majority of changes were made to:

  • Chapter 38 - Miscellaneous Chemical Products
  • Chapter 39 – Plastics and articles thereof
  • Chapter 48 - Paper and Paperboard; Articles of Paper Pulp, of Paper or Paperboard
  • Chapter 84 – Nuclear Reactors, Boilers, Machinery and Mechanical Appliance, Parts thereof
  • Chapter 85 - Electrical Machinery and Equipment and parts there of; Sound Recorders and Reproducers, Television Image and Sound Recorders and Reproducers, and Parts and Accessories of such articles

Regulation No. 301-2016 entered into force following the day of publication.
