In two Federal Register notices to be published on August 6, 2015, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced their participation in a pilot to test required partner government agency (PGA) data elements in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).

The AMS will test “the electronic submission of data related to importations of fruits, vegetables, and specialty crops regulated by AMS,” while APHIS will “test and assess the International Trade Data System for the electronic submission of Lacey Act import declaration data.”

The pilot will commence no earlier than August 19, 2015, and will also include more than a dozen additional government agencies. Comments can be submitted throughout the duration of the pilots.
