Next COAC Meeting Scheduled for April 24, 2015

In a Federal Register notice published on April 6, 2015, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is announcing the upcoming meeting of the Commercial Operations Advisory Committee (COAC), held in Washington, D.C. on April 24, 2015. The meeting will be open to the public and will also be accessible via a live web cast.

According to the notice, the COAC meeting will include the following topics:

  • The One U.S. Government Subcommittee: discuss the Automated Commercial Environment, Partner Government Agencies (PGA) and International Interoperability
  • The Exports Subcommittee: address policy and a strategic approach regarding exports
  • The Trade Enforcement Subcommittee: discuss policy to include metrics and implementation through Centers of Excellence and Expertise
  • The Global Supply Chain Subcommittee: discuss Customs—Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, Land ports of entry, Ocean Cargo, In-Transit and Air Cargo Advance Screening
  • The Trusted Trader Subcommittee: will start work once the pilot has advanced to the implementation phase for testing CBP and PGA trade benefits
  • The Trade Modernization Subcommittee: discuss International Strategy (WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement, Trans Pacific Partnership, and World Customs Organization), Trade Expertise and Revenue Modernization

The COAC advises the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on the commercial operations of CBP and other related Department functions.
