On July 7, 2021, in the Diario Oficial, Mexico`s Ministry of Economy announced that the Administrative Commission of the Commercial Integration Agreement with the Republic of Peru is making changes to allow for the electronic issuance and transmission of certificates of origin in an effort to facilitate bilateral trade. The certificates can only be filed by the exporter. The process is done in the Single Window environment, and both governments recognize the validity of electronic signatures. Additional information on how the new certificate will be validated was published in Bulletin 11 of the Servicio Nacional de Información de Comercio Exterior (SNICE) website, and details on the benefits for exporters were published in Bulletin 12. The electronic transmission entered into force on July 9, 2021.
