Mexico Publishes Official Standard for Electric Alternating Motors Cooled With Air

On July 21, 2021, in the Diario Oficial, Mexico’s Ministry of Energy published NOM-033-ENER-2019 which covers the energy efficiency, test method, and marking of electric alternating motors, cooled with air, with nominal power greater than or equal to 1W and less than 180W. This Mexican Official Standard will enter into force 120 calendar days after its publication. Products within the scope of this publication that have entered the country before its entry into force, or that are in transit, in accordance with the corresponding bill of lading, are not subject to comply with these requirements. Testing laboratories and product certification units may initiate testing and approval procedures of this Mexican Official Standard.
