On January 29, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #19-00022 the postponement of the February 9, 2019 Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) deployment.

The deployment originally included:

  • The automation of CBP Form 5106;

  • The unique identifiers for Centers of Excellence and Expertise;

  • Updates to the Generalized System of Preference.

CBP has not determined new dates for the rollout of this deployment.

In addition, CBP advises that the government shutdown did not affect the mandatory filing of drawback claims deployment date, which will go into effect on February 24, 2019.
