On May 13, 2021, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #47775386, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that the Voluntary Qualified Importer Program (VQIP) application portal for fiscal year 2022 benefits will close on May 31, 2021. Fiscal year 2022 begins October 1, 2021.
VQIP importers must ensure that their suppliers’ facilities are FDA certified in addition to other requirements, and they benefit from expedited review and importation of FDA regulated products.
