On June 15, 2018, the Chinese Ministry of Finance released two lists of tariffs on which it will impose an additional 25% on products of U.S. origin.
The two lists contain 659 items and comprise an estimated $50 billion in U.S. Dollars.
- List 1 consists of 545 tariff lines including certain agriculture products, automobiles, fish and aquatic invertebrates of about $34 billion will go into effect on July 6, 2018
- List 2 consists of 114 tariff lines including certain chemical products, medical equipment, and energy products of about $16B. The implementation date will be announced separately.
