China Releases Lists of Tariffs on Goods Imported from the U.S. in Response to Section 301 Tariffs

On June 15, 2018, the Chinese Ministry of Finance released two lists of tariffs on which it will impose an additional 25% on products of U.S. origin.

The two lists contain 659 items and comprise an estimated $50 billion in U.S. Dollars.

  • List 1 consists of 545 tariff lines including certain agriculture products, automobiles, fish and aquatic invertebrates of about $34 billion will go into effect on July 6, 2018
  • List 2 consists of 114 tariff lines including certain chemical products, medical equipment, and energy products of about $16B. The implementation date will be announced separately.
