CBSA Publishes Guide for CARM Registration

Posted by Timothy Miller on 3/4/24 5:00 PM

On January 11, 2024, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) published a guide for importers, customs brokers, and trade consultants on how to register for CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM). This guide includes registration links, onboarding resources, and details of upcoming system changes.

The CARM digital initiative is primarily a system modernization for collecting duties and taxes and aims to simplify the importing process. Once fully implemented, CARM will also have electronic commercial accounting declarations and allow for electronic management for appeals and compliance actions.

On May 13, 2024, CARM will become the official system of record for CBSA and its trade partners.
