On July 2, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #38731726, the upcoming requirement for the trade community to report all in-bond exports, arrivals, and diversions electronically through the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).

According to the CSMS, CBP will no longer accept paper copies of the CBPF 7512 for arrival and export functionality and air shipments will continue to be exempt from these requirements. Additionally, CBP has put out an official publication to provide the trade community with guidance, requirements, and responsibilities on processing in-bond cargo.

The in-bond requirements will become effective July 29, 2019.
