On June 29, 2017, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #17-000381 announcing the release of Harmonized System Update (HSU) 1704, containing 2,564 ABI records and 463 harmonized tariff records.
The CSMS specifies that, “Modifications include those mandated by the 484 F Committee, the Committee for Statistical Annotation of Tariff Schedules.” Other updates include:
- Adjustments to certain Participating Government Agencies (PGA) indicators
- Implementation of Presidential Proclamation 9466 resulting in a staged rate duty reduction
The update also includes all required modifications for the verification of the 2017 Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
