CBP Publishes FAQ on Updated Importer Identity Form 5106

On March 15, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on the updated importer identity form 5106.

The FAQ covers questions that CBP received from the trade as well as some additional topics, including:

  • Length of time for CBP to process a form;

  • Optional data elements;

  • Periodic monthly statement activations;

  • CBP assigned numbers and social security numbers;

  • The form input formatting.

The updated importer identity form 5106 deployed on March 16, 2019.
