On July 10, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued guidance in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #38840764, on the sixth round of product exclusions for the Section 301 list 1 trade remedies.

According to CBP, importers may request administrative refunds on previous shipments of products that are subject to the duty exclusions as they are retroactive to July 6, 2018. Importers are instructed to file a post summary correction on unliquidated entry summaries, or to file a protest for entries that have already liquidated. In addition, CBP reminds importers to refer to CSMS #18-000657 when filing entries with multiple Chapter 99 headings or subheadings.

CBP directs additional questions on Section 301 entry filing requirements to TradeRemedy@cbp.dhs.gov.
