CBP Extends In-Bond Regulation Enforcement Dates

Posted by Matt Schmitt on 1/4/18 5:12 PM

On January 4, 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced they are extending the initial implementation period of in-bond regulation changes until July 2, 2018.

On July 2, 2018, CBP will no longer accept the paper Customs Form 7512. CBP will still accept paper forms at the border, for warehouse withdrawals, Foreign Trade Zone exports and transfers, or for vessel or aircraft supply operations. On August 6, 2018, the electronic reporting of all transactions will become mandatory.

At this time, the six-digit Harmonized Tariff Schedule number requirement date for implementation has not been finalized.
