On March 20, 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced in a Federal Register notice the eBond test program would extend until further notice.

CBP extended the program in order to, “…encourage greater participation in the test by the trade and thereby provide CBP data needed to assess the feasibility of implementing the test program on a permanent basis.”

CBP will publish the conclusion of the test in a future Federal Register notice.
