CBP Announces Submission of PGA Forms in DIS

On April 22, 2016 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #16-000321 announcing that for an interim period certain Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) will allow filers to submit documentation to the Document Image System (DIS) during the respective pilots.

These submissions apply to those that are completing their entries in Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Cargo Release. According to the notice, “Filers participating in PGA pilots may still submit the required data via the PGA message set.  This interim DIS policy is merely providing the option for Cargo Release filers to submit the attached set of PGA forms in DIS until the data captured in those forms will be required to be submitted through the PGA message set.”

During their pilot programs the listed agencies will allow their forms to be uploaded to DIS:

  • Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF)
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
  • Environmental Protections Agency (EPA)
  • Fish and Wild Life Service (FWS)
  • National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)

The full CSMS as well as a list of the forms that are able to be uploaded to DIS, can be accessed here
