BIS Imposes New Export Controls on Pakistan

In a press release published on November 25, 2024, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced a final rule that imposes controls on exports, reexports, and in-country transfers of six categories of items to Pakistan.

These controls have been introduced to address diversion concerns for the following products:

  • Particle accelerators;
  • Certain stainless or alloy pipes and valves;
  • Certain pumps and welders;
  • Oscilloscopes;
  • Chromatographs and spectrometers; and
  • Magnetometers.

This final rule went into effect the day of publication.
