On January 15, 2024, Argentina published Decree 33/2025 in the Boletin Oficial de la Republica Argentina that establishes new changes on how certain safeguards and antidumping and countervailing duties are applied.

The new Decree aims to streamline procedures and investigations related to the aforementioned trade practices. Additionally, the validity period for Antidumping and Countervailing duties reduces from five to three years, while the duration of a definitive safeguard measure will be limited to the period necessary to prevent or remedy injury but this period many not exceed two years.

Articles 131, 132, 133 and 135 of the Decree became effective on January 16, 2024, and the remaining provisions will come into effect on the entry into force of the complementary regulations issued by the Secretary of Industry and Commerce.
