The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) recently accepted the endorsement from leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APRC) in regards to a set of “Best Practices in Trade Secret Protection and Enforcement Against Misappropriation”.

A multi-year initiative, including a four-volume report on “Trade Secret Protection in APEC Economies” headed by the United States with backing from APEC Leaders culminated in the Best Practice document. This document categorizes eight practices that will assist in policy development throughout the region in regards to protecting trade secrets.

Under the White House’s “Strategy on Mitigating the Theft of U.S. Trade Secrets” the United States is working actively to protect American trade secrets.
