On Earth Day 2024, we reaffirm our global commitment to environmental sustainability.

At Expeditors, we recognize that sustainability is not just a buzzword—it is an ongoing commitment. By embracing strong environmental standards and targets we can enhance customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and our planet’s wellbeing.

With engagement at the highest levels of our company, we have made our commitment to environmental sustainability a key part of our overall company strategy and set near-term Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions reduction targets that we are on our way to achieving. To carry out our environmental efforts across our global network, we empower our “Green Teams” in all of our 176 districts located around the world. Our Green Teams play a dual role today, focusing both on internal-facing work on Expeditors’ environmental initiatives as well as external work focused on supporting the environmental needs of our customers as they seek to optimize their supply chains.

Here are some ways we celebrate Earth Day every day at Expeditors through the on-going work of our Green Teams:

Greener Practices: Every step counts. Whether it is installing energy-efficient lighting, switching to electric forklifts, reducing waste, or increasing recycling, our collective efforts contribute to a greener planet.

Education and Awareness: We strive to educate our teams about climate action, sustainability achievements, and the importance of environmental consciousness. Sharing that knowledge is important, as it empowers our people to work on our internal initiatives and educate our customers on “green solutions” for their supply chains.

Community Engagement: Partnering with local organizations, participating in community clean-ups, and supporting environmental initiatives are ways we show our commitment beyond the walls of our offices.

Employee Engagement: By encouraging employees to share their eco-friendly practices, ideas, and stories, we celebrate their efforts and inspire others to get involved.
