How to Prepare for CARM

1. Create a CARM Client Portal user account

This step will allow you to access the CCP, create a personal profile, enable email notifications, and login as a returning user.

2. Link your user account to a business       account

This step will allow you to request access to your business account in the CARM Client Portal.

3. Create a business portal account and delegate authority to a third party

This step will help you set up delegation of authority for a third party service provider in the CARM Client Portal. There are only two user roles that can delegate authority: Business Account Manager and Program Account Manager.

4. Set up your Importer Security Bond

An Importer Direct Security bond with CBSA is MANDATORY under CBSA's CARM initiative. Expeditors Canada Inc. can provide and support this requirement on behalf of Importers.
