Description:

In today's heightened regulatory environment, errors in reporting export values or creating documentation can lead to penalties, customs problems, and shipping delays.  We will review how you must comply with the Export Administration Regulations and provide a hands-on Workshop to practice ECCN and licensing determinations.

Duty minimization strategies such as Free Trade Agreements, TIBs, MPF Management, Duty Drawback, and Foreign Trade Zones save real money during the import process, but they are among the most complex, misunderstood, and misapplied customs strategies used by importers and exporters today.   We will review the different ways importers may lessen the impact of duties on their cost of doing business.

The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal contains tools which are most helpful when importers and exporters are tasked with monitoring their transactional activity, obtaining information about filers and bonds, and reviewing liquidation and ISF accuracy, yet its full capabilities can be difficult to extract. We will provide tips and tricks for working with your company’s data within the portal, how to run and modify reports, and how to use the ACE system to augment your auditing work. Please bring your laptop so you can sign in to ACE and practice with your own company’s data.
