Description:
The ACE Portal Modernization is underway, yet it is the legacy portal that is the primary source for information that allow traders to monitor their transactional activity. The portal’s full capabilities can be difficult to extract, so we will provide tips and tricks for working with your company’s data within the portal, demonstrate how to run and modify reports, and show how to use the ACE system to augment your auditing work. Please bring your laptop so you can sign in to ACE and practice with your own company’s data.
Minimizing duties is one of the fastest ways to bring financial returns to a company's bottom line. Duty minimization strategies such as the use of TIBs, MPF Management, Drawback, Free Trade Agreements, and Foreign Trade Zones save real money during the import process, but the concepts remain complex, misunderstood, and misapplied. Improper use of Incoterms can also contribute to surprise costs. We will discuss how duty minimization strategies work and how certain tactics might apply to your business. We will close with a discussion of how the 2020 version of Incoterms can be used to your company’s benefit.
