WTO Authorizes U.S. Countermeasures on EU Goods

On October 14, 2019, the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) of the World Trade Organization (WTO) adopted the findings of the WTO Arbitrator’s October 2nd decision to authorize the U.S. to assess tariffs on $7.5 billion of imports from the European Union (EU).

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) previously published a press release and the list of affected products with an anticipated effective date of October 18, 2019.  Per the USTR’s notice, the final list of affected products will be published in a future Federal Register notice.
