WCO Participates in Global Illicit Trade Summit

On February 21, 2017 the World Customs Organization (WCO) participated in the Global Illicit Trade Summit, attended by various policymakers, government officials, and other trade-related persons to discuss how to combat illicit trade and maintain security.

The WCO Secretary General discussed various types of illicit trade, “as well as emerging and evolving threats, such as those linked to the development of e-commerce…” The challenges in the rise of small packages and parcels, and free trade zones (FTZs) was also discussed.
