Posted by Matt Schmitt on 12/19/18 5:00 PM

The Section 301 tariff increase from 10% to 25% has been delayed to March 2, 2019, according to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announcement on December 19, 2018. The postponement covers the September 2018 Section 301 tariff list on $200 billion on products of China.

Originally, the rate of duty was set to increase to 25% from 10% on January 1, 2019. The delay comes as a result of the U.S. and China meeting on December 1, 2018, in which both sides agreed to a 90 day period of negotiations.
