Posted by Matt Schmitt on 9/20/18 5:00 PM

On September 10, 2018, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Robert Lighthizer met with the European Union (EU) Commissioner for Trade, Cecilia Malmström to improve trade relations between the U.S. and the EU.

The ministers addressed topics from the joint statement made July 25, by President Trump and President Juncker. Both ministers will meet again at the end of September, and further discussions will be held by staff in October on reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers.

Both the USTR and EU Commissioner for Trade will meet again in November to finalize any outcomes.
