US and South Korea to Hold Amendment Negotiations on KORUS FTA

On January 4, 2018, the U.S. Trade Representative announced that the U.S. and South Korea will meet to negotiate amendments and modifications of the United States – Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) in Washington, D.C. on January 5, 2018.

Michael Beeman, Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Japan, Korea, and APEC will lead the U.S. delegation, while Ms. Myung-hee Yoo, Director General from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will lead the Republic of Korea’s delegation. The talks will focus on market access in Korea for U.S. exports and the trade imbalance.
