Sixth Round of NAFTA Renegotiations Conclude

On January 29, 2018, the sixth round of the North American Free-Trade Agreement (NAFTA) renegotiations concluded in Montreal, Canada.

U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Robert Lighthizer commented, “We believe that some progress was made.” The USTR commented that they were beginning to discuss some of the core issues.

The USTR concluded with, “We will work very hard between now and the beginning of the next round, and we hope for major breakthroughs during that period.”
