President Signs Continuation of National Emergency Against Syria, Yemen, & Central African Republic

On May 9, 2017, the White House issued three notices stating that President Trump declared a Continuation of the National Emergency with Respect to Yemen, Syria, and the Central African Republic, effectively extending the sanctions currently in force for one year beyond the previous automatic termination dates.

The National Emergencies Act provides for the automatic termination of a national emergency unless extended within 90 days prior to the anniversary date of its declaration.
