Peru MTC Announces Telecommunication Equipment Import Permit Waivers

Recently, the Peru Ministry of Transport and Communication (MTC) released Supreme Decree No. 01-2016-MTC announcing that certain telecommunication equipment will have their import permits waived. These new regulations will work to smooth the customs clearance process and keep the flow of the supply chain.

The telecommunication equipment import waivers will apply to equipment that is used for private use and those from approved trading companies as well as those that have been authorized. The MTC will be preparing an Import Permit Exception List that will provide more information on the equipment that will be exempt from providing an import permit.

Supreme Decree 01-2016-MTC, regarding import permit waivers for telecommunication equipment will go into effect on April 27, 2016.
