EPA Amends Tier 3 Motor Vehicle and Fuel Standards

In a Federal Register notice, published on April 22, 2016, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that changes are being made to a previous final rule regarding the 2014 Tier 3 Motor Vehicle Emission and Fuel Standards and the July 2014 Quality Assurance Program.

According to the notice, “The regulatory changes being finalized in this final rule correct errors identified by the commenters and provide more clarity in the regulations to ensure that the regulations properly reflect the requirements established in those rules.” These amendments could potentially effect certain groups, including; gasoline refiners, ethanol producers, and fuel distributors.

These final EPA amendments will go into effect on June 21, 2016. The full notice can be accessed here
