New Tariff Quotas for Certain Products Imported from Ecuador

On January 24, 2017 the European Commission (EU) published a notice in the Official Journal of the European Union implementing regulation 2017/120, which introduces new preferential tariff quotas for certain goods imported from Ecuador.

 

These quotas are introduced in Annex II to the Trade Agreement between the European Union and Colombia, Peru and Ecuador which makes provision for certain derogations from the rules of origin based on an agreed quota system.

 

Quotas are available for goods listed in the regulation are primarily based on volume in tonnes net weight and will apply from January 1 to December 31, 2017.
