India Implements Tariffs on U.S. Goods

On June 15, 2019, the Government of India announced tariffs on certain goods of U.S. origin. The announcement was published in the Gazette of India under Notification No.17/2019 and includes products such as walnuts, almonds, apples, and phosphoric acid.

The additional tariffs were originally announced in a notice to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2018, this announcement makes several changes to the original list, the implementation of which has been delayed several times.

Notification No.17/2019 took effect on June 16, 2019.
