Getting Ready for the Customs Declaration Service in the United Kingdom

HM Revenue & Customs in the United Kingdom published a news article on its website providing an update regarding the intended implementation of the new Customs Declaration Service (CDS) to be phased in from August 2018 until early 2019.  The CDS is intended to replace the 25 year old CHIEF (Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight) and will require some additional data elements to align with global standards.

 

HMRC have established an email update service where traders can register to receive regular CDS updates.  The announcement can be accessed on the following link:
