G20 Trade Ministers Renew Commitment to WTO Reform

On June 8 and 9, 2019, the World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General met in Tsukuba, Japan with the G20 Trade Ministers for the G20 Ministerial Meeting on Trade and Digital Economy.

The trade ministers committed to WTO reform “…with a sense of urgency.” In a statement issued at the end of the meeting, the trade ministers said, “…we will work constructively with other WTO Members to undertake necessary WTO reform with a sense of urgency, including in the lead-up to the Twelfth WTO Ministerial Conference.”
