FWS Announces Suspension of ACE Pilot

On January 12, 2017 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #17-000015 announcing the suspension of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife (FWS) ACE pilot.

FWS will be collaborating with both CBP and the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC) on a timeline for implementation, the needs of FWS, and the concerns of the trade.

According to the notice, “The COAC working group will explore potential alternative methods for FWS to collect data and ensure FWS regulated commodities are accurately declared.
