On May 3, 2018, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a quick reference guide to support the Supplemental Guide for the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #18-000322.

The quick reference guide is intended as a high-level resource to help importers and filers understand the information reported to FDA for FDA-regulated products, and does not include any of the following:

  • Technical specifications for transmitting data;
  • Information for determining if FDA regulates a product;
  • Information on the Harmonized Tariff Schedule;
  • Information on disclaiming a product.

For any questions about the document, contact ACE_Support@fda.hhs.gov.
