European Commission Publishes Draft Withdrawal Agreement on Brexit

On February 28, 2018, the European Commission published a draft agreement on the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union.

The draft withdrawal agreement consists of six parts, including:

  • Introductory provisions;
  • Citizens' rights;
  • The financial settlement;
  • Transitional arrangements;
  • Institutional provisions;
  • Other separation issues such as goods placed on the market before the withdrawal date.

Additionally, the draft agreement contains a protocol for the Ireland and Northern Ireland border.
