Colombia Updates Customs Regulations

On July 2, 2019, the Government of Colombia published Presidential Decree 1165, updating the “Régimen de Aduanas” outlined in Decree 1609 published in 2013. The decree, a 383 pages document, which lists best practices and the latest recommendations from the private sector, gremial groups and governmental entities. The decree covers most of the regulations needed for customs authorities, importers, exporters, cargo carriers, customs brokers and others.

Enforcement began on August 2, 2019.
