Canadian Minister Issues Statement on New Agreement for CPTPP

On January 23, 2018, the Canadian Minister of International Trade, François-Philippe Champagne, issued a statement on a new Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Minister Champagne stated, “Today, I am pleased to announce that Canada and the 10 other remaining members of the Trans-Pacific Partnership concluded discussions in Tokyo, Japan.”

Minister Champagne confirmed an improved arrangement for Canadians on automobiles and the suspension of many intellectual property provisions of concern.
